Daily operator quick start

A simple routine for checking bookings, preparing service and operating the floor.

Once setup is complete, most venue teams only need a small part of TablePace during a normal shift.

Before service

  1. Open Overview for a quick view of the venue.
  2. Open Bookings and check today's reservations, guest notes, occasions and family/accessibility needs.
  3. Check Capacity if the service has unusual limits or needs a one-off change.
  4. Open Floorplan and make sure the correct published layout is bound to the service.
  5. Review the waitlist and any bookings that still need attention.

During service

Open Bookings, choose the service date, then enter Service Mode.

Use the live floor to:

  • see which tables are available or occupied;
  • open a booking from the floor schedule;
  • mark guests arrived and seated;
  • add a walk-in;
  • move a booking to another table;
  • edit guest or booking details;
  • add or seat waitlist guests.

TablePace refreshes the live booking and floor state automatically. You should not need to manually refresh after normal booking changes.

After service

Use Overview and the Square integration, if connected, to review booking and sales context. In Operations, update ingredient costs, recipes, prep information or suppliers when something has changed.

If something looks wrong

Start with the simplest checks:

  • confirm you are on the correct venue and service date;
  • confirm the expected floorplan is published;
  • check whether Capacity has a blackout or one-off override;
  • open the booking and review its current status;
  • use Support & testing for test tools and links to these Docs.
