Blackouts and one-off changes
Close or alter exceptional dates without changing your normal weekly services.
Use one-off capacity controls when a particular date is different from the normal weekly pattern.
Typical examples include:
- public holiday closure;
- private event or full buyout;
- reduced service because of staffing;
- maintenance closure;
- a special event with different booking rules.
Close a date or period
Open Capacity, choose the date you need to change and add the appropriate closure/blackout. Include a short reason that will make sense to another manager later.
A blackout takes priority over normal recurring availability for the affected period.
Keep recurring services clean
Do not delete or rewrite Friday Dinner just because one Friday is closed. Keep the recurring service as the normal rule and place the exception on the exceptional date.
That makes future availability easier to understand and reduces accidental changes to later weeks.
Recheck online availability
After adding or removing a one-off closure, use the Capacity test workspace or your published booking widget to confirm the expected times are open or closed.
