Test your capacity rules

The Capacity test workspace lets you ask TablePace the same practical question a booking request asks: can this party fit at this time, and why?

Use it after setting up a service, changing pacing, adding a blackout or troubleshooting a missing online time.

Run a test

1. Open Capacity and find the test workspace.
2. Enter the service date.
3. Choose the requested time and party size.
4. If testing progressive pacing, choose the evaluation time you want to simulate.
5. Run the test.

TablePace evaluates the relevant service and reports whether the request is allowed under the current rules.

What to look for

If the request is rejected, identify the specific boundary before changing anything. It may be:

• service closed;
• outside the service window;
• party too large;
• total service capacity reached;
• interval cover limit reached;
• interval booking limit reached;
• advance-booking rule;
• blackout or override;
• seating unavailable.

Test realistic edge cases

For a new service, test at least:

• first available time;
• busiest expected time;
• last bookable time;
• maximum normal party size;
• one party above the maximum;
• a blackout date;
• both sides of a progressive pacing release point, if enabled.

This is much safer than discovering a rule problem after the widget is public.
