Booking widget fields and behaviour
Understand what guests can be asked for and how their answers appear to the venue team.
The booking widget is designed to collect enough information to seat and serve the party without turning the booking form into a questionnaire.
Core booking details
A guest booking includes the selected date/time, party size and contact details required by the current venue configuration.
Family seating
TablePace can capture:
- number of guests under 12 as part of the total party size;
- highchairs required;
- pram/stroller space.
Children are included in the total party size. Do not add adults and children together again when reading the booking.
Accessibility context
Guests can provide supported accessibility seating needs. The information is shown on operator surfaces so staff can prepare an appropriate table.
This context does not silently rewrite table capacities. Staff still remain responsible for making a suitable seating decision.
Contact details and SMS
When guest booking SMS is enabled, a usable mobile number is required for new bookings so confirmations and supported booking changes can be sent.
If the venue's included SMS allowance is exhausted, bookings continue rather than being blocked solely because SMS is unavailable.
Operator visibility
The booking drawer, booking cards and Service Mode surfaces carry important family/accessibility information so it is not trapped only inside the public form.
